Chi Energy and Neuro Science of the Vagus Nerve

The School of Chi Energy

Chi Energy and Neuro Science of the Vagus Nerve

At the base of the neck is the longest nerve in the body called the vagus nerve, a nerve that is a critical component to the entire nervous system of the human body. The vagus nerve is a mixed nerve and emerges from the medulla oblongata numerous roots. It innervates the organs of the neck, chest cavity, digestive tract, organs retro-peritoneal space.  It contains motor, sensory and autonomic (parasympathetic) fibers.  According to Dr. Tracey, the vagus nerve transmits electrical impulses to and from several organs and the brain. What is important to consider is that the vagus nerve is part of the circuit that is the human nervous system and responsible for the transmission of the chemical agent responsible for inflammation: tumor necrosis factor (TNF).

At the School of Chi Energy, advanced energy cultivation is based on a Nerve Fiber Building Exercise.  Without proper instruction the buildup of the nerve fiber system is wrought with potential pitfalls. Seemingly innocuous, these dangers are anything but; life threatening and otherwise, chi training is the double edged sword; without proper guidance and mindful engagement, that which makes your life better can just as easily cause unforeseen and far reaching harm.  Aware of this aspect of chi energy, the two Sifus often encourage students and instructors alike to take the time to transfer a coolness into the base of the neck throughout the day which directly affects the vagus nerve, but especially prior to Nerve Fiber Building and other Chi Energy Training exercises. The reasons are scientifically fascinating.

In the article, “Shock Medicine” the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research documents the research by Dr. Kevin Tracey and his exploration into the field of “electronic medicine”.  According to Dr. Tracey’s research, the vagus nerve has the ability to control inflammation within the human body. Whereas there are moments when inflammation is the correct response, it is a rarity indeed. More often than not, inflammation is a health hazard and left unchecked, can result in many diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.

Heretofore, the interconnected nature of the nervous system and the immune system was something that was largely overlooked. It would seem that these two systems are integrated in more ways than we are currently aware. At the cutting edge of this research is the vagus nerve.

Dr. Tracey developed an electrical device that stimulates the vagus nerve and prevents production of TNF by a type of immune cell called a macrophage, effectively inhibiting inflammation. Students at the School of Chi Energy can do this very same thing without expensive and invasive surgery.  Students find by simply following the instructions provided in the online school instructed by Sifus’ Jones and Cicero with a step by step method of building bioenergy or better said biophotons.  In tandem, the School of Chi Energy Practitioner is taught by being mindful of particular attributes of how to change their inner temperature thus directly effecting the entirety of the vagus nerve.  These key attributes are how they can control the response of the vagus nerve and how it interacts with the larger circuit that is our nervous system and have it propagate the tangible sensations of a good feeling and a cool temperature throughout our host bodies, feeding into the organs themselves.

Most energy systems also rely on building up their blood circulatory system trying to get their body’s hormonal flow to be stronger thinking that this will led to more chi capacity. This often causes a person to go thru unwanted bad side effects, like headaches, muscle or organ pains and more; it can happen when too many hormones enter your body’s blood system too soon or as a result of heating up the inside of your body too much & for too long a time. Plus often times a person building up chi too fast in those ways can come across to others in an intense or aggressive manner. We show a Student how to by-pass all these possible trouble areas that can cause a person problems, while they are trying to harness a lot of energy. Students will learn how they can go straight to building up their body’s chi energy capacity and how they will make substantial gains in a minimum amount of time.

It is in the body’s nerve fiber system that the body puts off bio-energy or these bio-photons that people want to be able to cultivate in a big way. Elsewhere in the website we explain exactly what bio-photons are and how they are projected from the body thru your nervous system. We’ll show you how scientists can prove their existence thru the machines they have built to do so. See the Rhine Center Experiment conducted with one of our Instructors for more information on that process. It is thru this new way of cultivating chi energy in large amounts that is performed completely different than traditional styles teach their exercises, that we have discovered ways to form your chi into place. It is in learning this kind of forming your chi in place process that will lead Students to the higher levels possible with energy work.

Sadly, when we fail to remain mindful and control the attributes, electricity, bio or otherwise, is still electricity: it is hot and very destructive. Left unchecked, inflammation is the least of the concerns. However, mindful guidance of the attributes of bio electricity and how we engage our host bodies makes all the difference.

Hopefully these sentiments will resonate and encourage you in your training.

In the interim, as always:
Be well; be mindful.

The Spirit Being is the Healer Within

abstract-blue-green-grunge-texture-The Spirit Being is the Healer Within

By Sifu Cicero

We are all explorers who are learning and seeking out our truth of the supernatural.  Is it possible that the supernatural exists within our own bodies and could we be part of that supernatural experience.  We all have a physical body and mind but are we also a spirit being that exists beyond the body and mind within.  Or is it as others believe, that we are only the physical body\mind that turns into a spirit being after death or perhaps that even ceases to exist when death occurs.

There are many people who do believe that we survive after death; some believe due to an up close and personal near death experience and still many others with a variety of un-worldly encounters. We are the ones who have had just had enough glimpses of another world or spirit life who want to know more.  I have personally experienced and do believe that a spirit being does live within my human body and that I am that spirit being.  Along with that understanding of a separate but shared self, I know that I will continue to live on long after I shed my body.  So yes, I do believe I am different than who I live within and I have found both my animal body and myself have a shared experience together.  The question is then how did I come to know this separate self having a tangible experience thru a body and mind.

Let me start to explain briefly that I’ve spent many years in off the grid private energy training methods with several advanced teachers and yet, still felt unfulfilled in many ways. Everything changed though, after I decided to talk with God about this very real un-fulfilled issue.  When I did I had no idea out of nowhere I’d find a most unusual chi energy man, named Sifu Jones.  I found that Sifu Jones had a very tangible chi energy method that showed me that there was more to energy work than the human part of me could imagine.  I found it took time to build up my nerve fibers that releases an energy called biophotons.  I was taught to learn how to become sensitized towards this subtle, yet very physical & powerful energy formed in place.  It was ‘biophotons formed in place’ that could be used to heal and perform abilities not in a superman way but in a spirit being way.  During that private training time with Sifu Jones, it was and still is a very supernatural experience.  This private training relationship led into Sifu Jones designing an online School. He designed each set of classes in it’s purest form without the dilution of other methods.

I listened and practiced as he taught me the method inside and out.  Then, we took the time together to develop his method into the International Online School of Chi Energy,  which launched in September of 2010.  He took his private one on one teachings and created four years of high end, yet simple step by step training to provide students like myself or those new to energy work how to reach extremely high levels.  He teaches that chi or biophotons can be formed in place.  This is done by performing a nerve fiber energy exercise that develops the body’s nerve fibers that creates a tangible pressure and density in a specialized form.  It was through this method that I found out that there is more to this “healer within” than I could have reasonably anticipated.

It was during my early part of the Chi Energy Training that I found out how much I was emotionally controlled by my own body’s hormonal & pheromone flows.  Yet, after performing the chi energy exercises within the first 30 days with an interesting technique, called the Tri-concept, my body’s hormonal flow started to change.  With other private energy methods that I had experienced, I always had an emotional roller coaster ride of sensations depending on my own mood.  If anyone has spent time and investment in high end private training, they know what I’m referring to when I say I was working with a lot of energy; however, with the Chi Energy method I found the training to be done in a moderate way and not an extreme way.  I was able to train my mind and body to become relaxed and calm while building “biophotons in place” via my entire nerve fiber system with a cool temperature and good feeling process.  Once I became “sensitive” and was trained to “tune into” this type of energy, I was able to expand my consciousness or more accurately my spirit being beyond my body without any unwanted side effects.

Nearing the end of twelve months of building up my nerve fibers, I started to physically feel a slight movement of my spirit being expanding out into the ‘circular energy form’ during practice.  I also found that by performing these specially designed energy exercises that I was experiencing a deeper level of calmness, which was all quite new to me during energy work practice.  As the training months past, I found that I was feeling excellent in great health and vigor and was more physically and emotionally flexible with an attractive tone of voice and attitude toward others.  I never realized how tight I was inside my own body even though I had been doing a form of mindful meditation and esoteric practices along with medical Qigong as a daily practice for most of my life.

I learned along with other students that it was the Tri-concept which is Sifu Jones’ signature part of the Chi Energy process, which really makes the difference.  Once learned, the student changes hot fast moving biophotons into good feeling and cool temperature static forms of healing energy.  These biophotons over time build up a very real and quite powerful form in a refined way, due to a built in precision, as part of the training.  What I learned in the method was how temperature has to be accounted for while building up and performing high level energy work.  Refer to the different scientific reference articles on why this temperature fact is true.  Looking back, I realized I could have never made this distinction between the human body and the spirit being because of the inherent flaws in those energy methods I was studying.

After I found out how temperature has to be accounted for while building up high levels of energy, this unique energy method also showed me how my body’s pheromones and natural killer cells are directly affected by temperature control.  These are topics that were never covered in the different other energy methods that I studied.  This method explained how using this Tri-concept is the best way to release my natural killer cells. Our body’s Natural Killer cells are our body’s last line of defense against viruses.  (refer to the article: Natural Killer Cells )

By learning to cultivate large amounts of Qi or bioenergy in this specific way, I was able to bring an expansion of my spirit being away from my physical body.  In the past, when I heard people talking about remote viewing, astral projection or out of body experiences, I could only think of or perform these abilities in an abstract or a metaphysical way.  I found out these techniques are obtainable by learning to tune into “bioenergy” with a relaxed sensitivity that turns out to be more powerful than heightened sensations.  Over time with Chi Energy Training, I learned how to maintain a relaxed way of working with an energy form; the energy form always feels good with a cool air conditioned temperature feeling regardless of how unpleasant the person(s) or circumstances I was encountering.

Each of us tries to find the best path to choose “the healer within”.   I found my best path was training with the School of Chi Energy Method and learned that being a professional healer takes training time, adjusting from your mistakes and tuning into the right type of energy.  If you’re interested in being able to physically feel your spirit being self and performing energy work at a professional level, then I invite you to visit the School of Chi Energy.

There is nothing wrong with Qigong

There is nothing wrong with Qigong

At the School of Chi Energy, we are often asked if we have something against traditional Chi Gung or QiGong styles because we have said we do not teach those kinds of techniques in our school, even though we personally studied some of the different styles of chi gong. So, I wanted to clarify what we mean in a better way, so there is no longer that misunderstanding.

For those people that are looking for something to improve their overall health, then we do think one of the over 9000 different chi gong styles available should provide you with that. Traditional styles were designed to build up your body’s blood circulation, thus improving a person’s overall health & vigor.

But, what we found out through our own research is if you want to cultivate large amounts of energy and be able to handle & store it effectively without having to go thru bad feeling side effects, it is through building up your body’s electrical or nervous system that you can do that. Your body’s nervous system is wired from your brain on and goes throughout your whole entire body reaching every part of it, so that communications take place. This energy that it uses is the same thing people call “chi energy”. This “chi” or bioenergy that the body emits in the way of bio-photons naturally can be cultivated in much larger amounts than normal when you know the procedure.

In our School of Chi Energy, we show students how they can strengthen their body’s nerve fibers, so that they will emit more bio-photons by performing a simply low aerobic impact energy exercise for only 20 minutes a day. We then show students how this newly buildup energy can be used for enhanced psychic abilities. Please refer to our School of Chi Energy’s Catalog to learn the type of abilities a student learns to bring out of them self.

At the school, students learn a new and more powerful energy exercise every six months of their chi training. We time the more powerful exercises like that, so a person’s body & mind can get use to the energy build up it is experiencing. Then they learn sensitivity training exercises that teach the student, whether they are staying in control of their energy that they are building up adequately.

Since each of these energy exercises are really powerful and they get more powerful as a student learns, we found that going any faster than the time schedule we have in place, only leads to a student overloading their body with too much energy. In many other energy systems it may take a student many years before they would experience an energy overload, but with the method we teach, it would be easy to overload very quickly and why we have so many safe guards for the student in place.

By staying on a well planned out time schedule of performing the different energy exercises, as the student’s body is ready for them, we take the students to a much higher ability of projecting their “chi” and being able to use this energy in many different ways. We teach the student all about the different bad side effects that are possible when cultivating qi energy in a fast way and how to avoid the bad side effects in the first place.

So, it isn’t that we have anything against the traditional styles of chi gung, it’s just that those systems or methods will not lead you to the higher levels in energy work. But then, nobody I know that does chi gung claims that they do lead to the higher levels in energy work, where advanced abilities come out. Our School is one of the few places that will & do claim to teach you to the higher levels in energy work, where those advanced abilities and healing techniques we talk about will come out for you.

If you are ready to see what the latest medical & scientific research says about energy cultivation, then you should check out the research we conducted at our School www.chienergyheals.com and find out if you too, would benefit from a program like ours.

Thank you,

Chi Energy & Conventional Wisdom

Chi Energy and Conventional Wisdom

“Men of my age flock together; we are birds of a feather, as the old proverb says. “- Plato’s Republic.

A recent article in Wired magazine sparked a thought that resounded not only with the aforementioned proverb, but also with some of the wise council provided by Sifu Jones: training partners and the sense of “community” is important when undergoing Chi Energy training [specifically] and the esoteric journey [in general].

The concept of the “community” has evolved with technological advances. No longer limited by distance, family and friends are able to stay connected via a plethora of networking capabilities: telephone; email; web-cams; etceteras. Even virtual environments that form social networks provide a means of maintaining current and cultivating new relationships. Opportunities to befriend a friend’s friend are simply a “click” away. Regardless, however, of the nature of the relationships, up close and personal or electronic, the axiom holds true: “Birds of a feather flock together”.

“The Buddy System: How Medical Data Revealed Secret to Health and Happiness”, written by Jonah Lehrer and published in Wired documents relates the findings of Nicholas Christakis (Harvard social scientist) and James Fowler (UC San Diego political scientist). http://archive.is/aYj5y

Based upon research regarding a Framingham, Massachusetts community in 1948 that included parents, children, friends and friends of friends, the extrapolated data was jaw dropping.

Via the precision of statistical analysis and rigor, Christakis and Fowler noted some very interesting things about the Framingham, Massachusetts community that speak volumes to our everyday lives and choices we make. For example: “In the early ’70s, 65 percent of Framingham residents ages 40 to 49 smoked regularly. By 2001, only 22 percent consumed one or more cigarettes daily. But the smoke didn’t clear at random: Friends and family had a decisive influence.”

Fowler noted, concerning smoking, “People quit together, or they didn’t quit at all.”

This buddy system of sorts carries with it significant “weight”. The study also showed, with conclusive evidence, “If one person became obese, the likelihood that his friend would follow suit increased by 171 percent.”

In essence, the data uncovered and analysis performed confirmed a truth my mother expressed to me during my childhood that Sifu Jones later hinted at for students in the School of Chi Energy: we either are, or become, the company we keep.

Anyone engaged in esoteric practices and meditative efforts knows this to be a lonely journey. However, regardless of the end-goal, our day-to-day lives are filled with interactions and varying degrees of intimacy and relationships with individuals who may or may not have similar interests and habits. The research performed by Christakis and Fowler should cause each of us to take a moment to pause and reflect on our lives and the people with whom we associate:

  • Are we affiliated with people who are positive?
  • Are our closest friends’ sources of encouragement?
  • Do our actions and words match?
  • Are the members of our individual networks orchestrated in such a way that we make beautiful music or a discordant and meaningless mixture of sounds?

This is not to say that we should disassociate from coworkers who are not engaged in Chi Energy. Nor should refuse to eat lunch with friends who may be overweight, but we should, at the very least, be aware of these factors; we may, more importantly, act agents of change, should we find discrepancies within the lives of our friends and loved ones.

Fortunately, the School of Chi Energy offers an Instructor’s forum where you can find support, positive words of encouragement and advice regarding the journey. The School of Chi training systems provide students with opportunities to fellowship and interact with other “like minded” men and woman at similar stages of their journey. Via conference calls, recorded Q & A sessions moderated by Sifu Jones and Sifu Cicero with students and certified instructors alike; we surround ourselves with a network of like-minded individuals, encouraging one another to fly higher and further.

Photons and the Casimir Effect

images1Physicists extract light from seeming emptiness

Courtesy of Chalmers University of Technology and World Science staff: Physicists in Sweden say they have managed to create light from vacuum, the closest thing to empty space known to exist. In findings published in the research journal Nature, the scientists said they verified an effect predicted over 40 years ago by capturing some of the particles of light, or photons, that constantly appear and disappear in the vacuum.

A diagram illustrating how virtual photons bounce off a “mirror” that vibrates at a speed approaching that of light. The round mirror in the picture is a symbol, and under that is the quantum electronic component (referred to as a SQUID), which acts as a mirror. This makes real photons appear in pairs, physicists say. (Credit: Philip Krantz, Chalmers U.)

A vacuum is a space devoid of atoms, the units that make up air, other gases and familiar objects. That means a vacuum is the next best thing to a space truly empty of anything at all—something physicists say can’t exist in nature as we know it, thanks to a phenomenon called the uncertainty principle. This holds that nothing can be in a state that is pinned down with perfect precision.

The uncertainty principle ensures that the vacuum teems with various subatomic particles that flit in and out of existence. They appear for an instant and disappear again, the energy fueling their existence “borrowed” from the void. Since their life is so fleeting, they are called virtual particles.

In the new work, Christopher Wilson and colleagues at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden said they coaxed photons into leaving their “virtual” state and becoming real photons—measurable light. The physicist Gerald Moore predicted in 1970 that this should happen if virtual photons bounce off a mirror moving at nearly the speed of light, in a phenomenon called the dynamical Casimir Effect.

Casimir Effect & Black Holes

“Since it’s not possible to get a mirror to move fast enough, we’ve developed another method for achieving the same effect,” said Per Delsing, a physicist at Chalmers. “Instead of varying the physical distance to a mirror, we’ve varied the electrical distance to an electrical short circuit that acts as a mirror for microwaves.” The “mirror” consists of a device called a SQUID or superconducting quantum interference device, which is extremely sensitive to magnetic fields. By changing the direction of a magnetic field several billions of times a second the scientists said they made the “mirror” vibrate at one-fourth the speed of light.

“The result was that photons appeared in pairs from the vacuum, which we were able to measure in the form of microwave radiation,” said Delsing. “We were also able to establish that the radiation had precisely the same properties that quantum theory said it should have when photons appear in pairs in this way.” Quantum theory is the science of extremely small particles.

During the experiment, Delsing said, the “mirror” transferred some of its energy of motion to virtual photons so they could materialize. Göran Johansson, another physicist at Chalmers, said other particles might also be extracted from a vacuum in principle, but photons are easier. That’s because the equivalence of energy and mass, discovered by Einstein, implies that photons—being weightless—can be stimulated “out of their virtual state” with relatively little energy. Obtaining chunkier particles, such as electrons or protons, which make up atoms, “would require a lot more,” he added.

The scientists said the photons that appear in pairs in the experiment may be useful in the research field of quantum information, which includes the development of superfast “quantum” computers. But the main value of the work, they said, is that it aids our understanding of basic physical concepts, such as vacuum fluctuations. Some scientists believe these may have a connection with “dark energy” which drives the accelerating expansion of the universe, a discovery itself recognized this year with a Nobel Prize in physics.”

Chi Energy Can Be Measured

The Rhine Parapsychology Research Center

Bio-Emissions Lab Experiment

Can Chi Energy be measured?

This article and video is about my visit to the Rhine Center’s Bio-Emissions Lab in Durham, NC.  The recent invitation to the Center was extended by Executive Director John Kruth and Bill Joines who is the primary researcher and designer of this 30 year bio-energy research experiment.

The experiment will measure bio-emissions or bio-photons that come from the human body. There are electromagnetic fields in and around the body that communicate through a light source of bio-energy called bio-photons.

During the last thirty years the Rhine Center’s Bio-Emissions experiment measures for charge accumulation and electromagnetic bio-emissions. These measurements are being used to study bio-energy healers, meditators and people who claim unusual effects on electrical equipment.

Chi Energy Instructor measures at High Levels

Chi Energy Instructor Measures at Extreme Biophotons Levels

The equipment used to measure bio-emissions are several special devices. The thermoelectric cooler is used to cool the photomultiplier tube to negative 26 degrees centigrade.  This is done to reduce interference from the electrical devices.. The baseline is taken for each individual before they begin their healing, meditation, or energy work.  The photomultiplier tube actually measures the increase in photon emissions from the baseline for the individual being tested. Then it is the photomultiplier tube that measures biophotons. When one photon of light strikes this sensitive surface it dislodges several other electrons. The dislodged electrons accelerate striking many more electrons that cause a change reaction event.

According to Wikipedia: “A bio photon (from the Greek βιο meaning “life” and φωτο meaning “light”), synonymous with ultra weak photon emission, low-level biological chemiluminescence, ultra weak bioluminescence, dark luminescence and other similar terms, is a photon of light emitted from a biological system and detected by biological probes as part of the general weak electromagnetic radiation of living biological cells. ”

Click here to watch:The School of Chi Energy Heals Bio-Emissions VideoSifu Cindy Cicero is the Director and Instructor for the School of Chi Energy who participated in this Rhine Center experiment. There are four individuals that have measured high amounts of biophotons in the ultraviolet range.  The video results show that she is now the “fifth” unique individual with an unusual amount of bio-photon emission that they’ve been able to measure in the last 30 years.

The reason I feel I did so well on the test is that I built up my body’s nerve fibers using specially designed energy exercises. In the The School of Chi Energy a chi student is trained to build up the nerve fibers allowing for a stronger projection of bio-energy. When information contained in bio-photons are built up in high levels, your ability to control the hormonal flow of your body and other extreme psi abilities will be possible.

Bio-Photonics has been around awhile according to Mind Science News article: “Biophotons: DNA Radiance of Health or Disease http://youtu.be/2STCpAJtSRw

Professor Fritz-Albert Popp of International Institute of Biophysics (Biophotonics) in Germany has conducted research that confirms the existence of biophotons. Biophotons are weak light emitted by photons within the cells of our bodies. All cells emit light. Professor Popp says, “we are swimming in an ocean of light…” His research shows that DNA from living cells hold and release photons producing “biophotonic emissions” that radiate throughout the cellular network.

These biophotonic emissions of light have no mass, and they seem to be responsible for transmitting information inside of individual cells as well as radiating that information to other cells. These emissions may hold a key to our understanding of disease and wellness.”

It is the significant value of these types of bio-photon experiments that demonstrate those with unusually high emissions have a great influence (degree of change) over the physical reality of body and mind.

Chi Energy and Somatic Awareness

Somaic Awareness and Chi EnergyChi Energy and Somatic Awareness

The field of Somatic Awareness is both deep and wide: each topic of interest and nuance goes deeper and deeper into research, theorems and [consequentially] more information found in a plethora of books. Here, we will take a look at Somatic Awareness from a very specific perspective: chi energy and somatic awareness.

Somatic Awareness Defined:

Merriam-Webster defines “somatic” as follows: “of, relating to, or affecting the body… as distinguished from the viscera”.
The term “viscera” is of great importance in understanding the nature of what is called somatic, as the very meaning and play of this word build into the “awareness” thereof.

Again, going back to Merriam-Webster, we find that “viscera” is equivalent to all of the eternal organs located in the “great cavity of the trunk proper”, with regards to human anatomy. Furthermore, the term “visceral” speaks directly to: elemental emotions. In effect, the body is aware; and should be able to communicate its various [nutrition; rest; therapeutic] needs on a very basic, emotional level.

The awareness of this communication, the ability to perceive and understand this process of communicating with one’s own body [with a specific purpose/message] is the overarching goal of Somatic Awareness. This theme has been propagated throughout time in as many cultures. In Issai Chozanshi’s treatise of the martial arts, he quotes the Confucian sage’s somatic understanding of the truth of the self: “The scriptures are within yourself; [those that are written down] only point out what you have not been able to see on your own”.

The instruction we provide will help you get greater insight into your own personal truth, both physically and figuratively.

Somatic Awareness and Chi:

Chi, as defined by Eastern mystics, is synonymous with that which Western scientists have called the Quantum Field. The theories are markedly similar when compared side-by-side. Each [Eastern Mysticism and Quantum Mechanics] speaks of an energy field made up of tiny particles that comprise everything, and move through everything.

Somatically speaking, Eastern mystics have been investigating the “inner space” of the mind/body relationship whereas their Western counterparts have delved into the “outer space” of formally investigating and documenting that which is often perceived yet not specifically understood [as to why such is the case]; hence the relevance of Issai Chozanshi’s quote in the previous section.

Using scientific jargon, the phenomenon of somatic awareness is achieved thru: “bioentanglement- quantum connections within and among living systems” (Entangled Minds, Dean Radin).

Information transmitted on a quantum level, carried throughout space and time, is not only directly related to the functioning of the human nervous system, but also gives rise to more “esoteric” abilities beyond simply wiggling one’s finger: psi-related abilities and a thorough understanding of the physical and psychological “self” are among them.

Somatic Awareness and Chi Development:

We have found “somatic awareness” to be a natural and appreciated by-product of chi training and chi development.

With increased sensitivity to chi energy, greater sensitivity to the messages from our bodies and our surroundings are achieved; the information transmitted on the quantum level through “bioentanglement” can be easily received and deciphered on an emotional level with little to no internal, conscious “analysis”: the difference between “thinking” and “knowing” will be made apparent.

  • I understand why someone wants to activate their inner chakras because they want to get more power and energy from their body, but are there any other reasons to do this?
  • I went through a number of energy systems that taught you how to activate inner chakras, but after seeing how your school is teaching this, why is your method so different?
  • What’s the difference between going through the Kundalini experience and that of activating a chakra? Is it the same thing?

Meditation changes temperatures:

Mind controls body in extreme experiments

In a monastery in northern India, thinly clad Tibetan monks sat quietly in a room where the temperature was a chilly 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a yoga technique known as g Tum-mo, they entered a state of deep meditation. Other monks soaked 3-by-6-foot sheets in cold water (49 degrees) and placed them over the meditators’ shoulders. For untrained people, such frigid wrappings would produce uncontrolled shivering.

If body temperatures continue to drop under these conditions, death can result. But it was not long before steam began rising from the sheets. As a result of body heat produced by the monks during meditation, the sheets dried in about an hour.

Attendants removed the sheets, then covered the meditators with a second chilled, wet wrapping. Each monk was required to dry three sheets over a period of several hours.

Why would anyone do this? Herbert Benson, who has been studying g Tum-mo for 20 years, answers that “Buddhists feel the reality we live in is not the ultimate one. There’s another reality we can tap into that’s unaffected by our emotions, by our everyday world. Buddhists believe this state of mind can be achieved by doing good for others and by meditation. The heat they generate during the process is just a by-product of g Tum-mo meditation.”

Benson is an associate professor of medicine at the Harvard Medical School and president of the Mind/Body Medical Institute at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He firmly believes that studying advanced forms of meditation “can uncover capacities that will help us to better treat stress-related illnesses.”

Benson developed the “relaxation response,” which he describes as “a physiological state opposite to stress.” It is characterized by decreases in metabolism, breathing rate, heart rate, and blood pressure. He and others have amassed evidence that it can help those suffering from illnesses caused or exacerbated by stress. Benson and colleagues use it to treat anxiety, mild and moderate depression, high blood pressure, heartbeat irregularities, excessive anger, insomnia, and even infertility. His team also uses this type of simple meditation to calm those who have been traumatized by the deaths of others, or by diagnoses of cancer or other painful, life-threatening illnesses.

“More than 60 percent of visits to physicians in the United States are due to stress-related problems, most of which are poorly treated by drugs, surgery, or other medical procedures,” Benson maintains.

The Mind/Body Medical Institute is now training people to use the relaxation response to help people working at Ground Zero in New York City, where two airplanes toppled the World Trade Center Towers last Sept. 11. Facilities have been set up at nearby St. Paul’s Chapel to aid people still working on clearing wreckage and bodies. Anyone else who feels stressed by those terrible events can also obtain help at the chapel. “We are training the trainers who work there,” Benson says.

The relaxation response involves repeating a word, sound, phrase, or short prayer while disregarding intrusive thoughts. “If such an easy-to-master practice can bring about the remarkable changes we observe,” Benson notes. “I want to investigate what advanced forms of meditation can do to help the mind control physical processes once thought to be uncontrollable.”

Breathtaking results

Some Westerners practice g Tum-mo, but it often takes years to reach states like those achieved by Buddhist monks. In trying to find groups he could study, Benson met Westerners who claimed to have mastered such advanced techniques, but who were, in his words, “fraudulent.”

Benson decided that he needed to locate a religious setting, where advanced mediation is traditionally practiced. His opportunity came in 1979 when the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Tibet, visited Harvard University. “His Holiness agreed to help me,” recalls Benson. That visit was the beginning of a long friendship and several expeditions to northern India where many Tibetan monks live in exile.

During visits to remote monasteries in the 1980s, Benson and his team studied monks living in the Himalayan Mountains who could, by g Tum-mo meditation, raise the temperatures of their fingers and toes by as much as 17 degrees. It has yet to be determined how the monks are able to generate such heat.

The researchers also made measurements on practitioners of other forms of advanced meditation in Sikkim, India. They were astonished to find that these monks could lower their metabolism by 64 percent. “It was an astounding, breathtaking [no pun intended] result,” Benson exclaims.

To put that decrease in perspective, metabolism, or oxygen consumption, drops only 10-15 percent in sleep and about 17 percent during simple meditation. Benson believes that such a capability could be useful for space travel. Travelers might use meditation to ease stress and oxygen consumption on long flights to other planets.

In 1985, the meditation team made a video of monks drying cold, wet sheets with body heat. They also documented monks spending a winter night on a rocky ledge 15,000 feet high in the Himalayas. The sleep-out took place in February on the night of the winter full moon when temperatures reached zero degrees F. Wearing only woolen or cotton shawls, the monks promptly fell asleep on the rocky ledge, They did not huddle together and the video shows no evidence of shivering. They slept until dawn then walked back to their monastery.

Overcoming obstacles

Working in isolated monasteries in the foothills of the Himalayas proved extremely difficult. Some religious leaders keep their meditative procedures a closely guarded secret. Medical measuring devices require electrical power and wall outlets are not always available. In addition, trying to meditate while strangers attempt to measure your rectal temperature is not something most monks are happy to do.

To avoid these problems, Instructor in Psychology Sara Lazar, a Benson colleague, used functional magnetic resonance imaging to scan the brains of meditators at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. The subjects were males, aged 22-45, who had practiced a form of advanced mediation called Kundalini daily for at least four years. In these experiments, the obstacles of cold and isolation were replaced by the difficulties of trying to meditate in a cramped, noisy machine. However, the results, published in the May 15, 2000, issue of the journal NeuroReport, turned out to be significant.

“Lazar found a marked decrease in blood flow to the entire brain,” Benson explains. “At the same time, certain areas of the brain became more active, specifically those that control attention and autonomic functions like blood pressure and metabolism. In short, she showed the value of using this method to record changes in the brain’s activity during meditation.”

The biggest obstruction in further studies, whether in India or Boston, has always been money. Research proceeded slowly and intermittently until February 2001, when Benson’s team received a $1.25 million grant from Loel Guinness, via the beer magnate’s Kalpa Foundation, established to study extraordinary human capacities.

The funds enabled researchers to bring three monks experienced in g Tum-mo to a Guinness estate in Normandy, France, last July. The monks then practiced for 100 days to reach their full meditative capacity. An eye infection sidelined one of the monks, but the other two proved able to dry frigid, wet sheets while wearing sensors that recorded changes in heat production and metabolism.

Although the team obtained valuable data, Benson concludes that “the room was not cold enough to do the tests properly.” His team will try again this coming winter with six monks. They will start practice in late summer and should be ready during the coldest part of winter.

Benson feels sure these attempts to understand advanced mediation will lead to better treatments for stress-related illnesses. “My hope,” he says, “is that self-care will stand equal with medical drugs, surgery, and other therapies that are now used to alleviate mental and physical suffering. Along with nutrition and exercise, mind/body approaches can be part of self-care practices that could save millions of dollars annually in medical costs.”

To Learn More: How Can Chi Energy or Bioenergy be Measured

Chi Energy and Invisibility

Chi Energy and Invisibility is a concept that predates written language; even early hunters and gatherers knew the advantages of being “unseen” when tracking prey.  Camouflage techniques have improved throughout the centuries, and most recently, so have scientific breakthroughs regarding the possibility to achieve invisibility through technology.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, “invisible” is defined as: “incapable by nature of being seen; inaccessible to view.”

The ability to go unseen, to actually become “invisible”, is something many Chi Energy practitioners hope to achieve.  Like the “magic cloaks” of science fiction and fantasy lore, many naysayers outside and within the Chi Energy Community will argue this to be impossible.  Although this article will not go into the specifics on how to perform an “invisibility” technique, (or for all the Trekkies out there, “cloaking” technique), this article will focus on the actual scientific rationale as to why this works via technology, and provide insights as to why this can also be done with chi.

Invisible Technology:

In an article published by Wired magazine, it was stated that: “the U.S. Army is getting closer to mastering man-made “meta-materials” that can bend light around an object.”  Army Eyes Invisible Cloak

According David Smith, a professor at Duke University: “A meta-material is a material with unique properties that derive from its physical structure, not its chemical make up.”  Smith’s findings suggest that, in order to actually manipulate light, the surface of the material being used (for example, the material in an invisibility cloak) must be much smaller than that of the wavelength of light being used.  “The advances in nanotechnology are making it easier to create ever-smaller structures that can manipulate ever-smaller wavelengths,” said Smith.  Invisibility Cloaking

Students of the Chi Energy School are finding, first-hand, the true nature of the physics behind chi, and how human beings actually interact with and [can] control the subatomic particles that build the Universe as the Scientific Community has recently come to know it.

Strings, Plank Length, and Chi:

As we delve deeper into the building blocks of the Universe, we find that the smallest particle, which cannot be broken down any further, is a “string”.

“String theory is a unified theory of the universe, postulating that fundamental ingredients of nature are not zero-dimensional point particles but tiny one-dimensional filaments called strings; string theory harmoniously unites quantum mechanics and general relatively, the previously known laws of the small and the large, that are otherwise incompatible.”-  Brian Greene, The Elegant Universe

According to string theorists, it is proposed that strings are the smallest forms of energy in the known Universe.  A string’s length is “about 10 -33 centimeters,” Brian Greene The Elegant Universe.  This length is called “Plank length”, and is smaller than the subatomic particles that make-up the photons that, in turn, make visible light.  Please note: nanotechnology has yet to reach the subatomic sizes of plank length, however; practitioners Chi Energy can.  Chi is a form off electromagnetic energy (biophotons).  Human beings produce bio-electromagnetic energy; said energy serves as a key component of the functioning of the body, even at the cellular level.  It only stands to reason that many of us are indeed sensitive to and can harness/cultivate more.

Students of the Chi Energy are given step-by-step instruction regarding how to become sensitive to as well as intuitive with the electromagnetic energy they produce as well as the ebb and flow of the electromagnetic energy in the Universe.  Yes, this is a tall order, however; with the assistance of dedicated Instructions as well as a thorough curriculum students of the Chi Energy Heals School are taught to think and feel at the subatomic level. The possibilities are truly limited only by the individual’s mind.  Using chi to wrap the body in light-diffracting particles is something that is certainly conceivable and, given the proper training, certainly achievable.

We at the School of Chi Energy have found that chi energy is best developed when a healthy mind and a healthy body work in unison.

In the interim: be well; be mindful.
